Stun Gun Certification Class
  • Tuition is $50.00.
  • Required by the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance to carry a stun gun while on security officer duty. 
  • Course is 4 hours.   
  • The course reviews electric shock principles and how to use the stun gun.
  • The student must take a written exam at the end of the class.  A passing grade of 70% or more is required for successful completion.
  • Student exposure to the stun gun is voluntary.
  • USA Training Academy will ensure that all training materials are provided including the stun gun.   
  • A state stun gun certification card is issued upon successful completion of the class.

Do not confuse the stun gun with a TASER. These are two different non-lethal weapons. The TASER shoots two barbed probes at the subject.  On the other hand, the stun gun contact probes must actually touch the subject.  This requires the officer to be physically close to the subject.
