Baton Certification Class

• Tuition is $50.00.
• Required by the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance to carry an impact weapon while on security officer duty. 
  
• Course is 4 hours.   
  
• The course covers how to use the impact weapon and various striking techniques.
  
• The student must take a written exam on the impact weapon and the use of force.  A passing grade of 70% or more is required for successful completion.
  
• USA Training Academy will ensure that all training materials are provided including the impact weapon. 
  
• A state baton certification card is issued upon successful completion of the class.
  

Tennessee state law, TCA 39-17-1308, (Defenses to unlawful possession or carrying of a weapon), sections 8 & 9 specify that persons carrying an impact weapon without being duly trained and certified are subject to arrest.
